Its unique inner workings allow it to install with the tape straight on (0 degrees) or rotated (180 degrees) regardless of the tape polarity. So the connector accessory can easily push into the base on the 8t tape without having to check polarity. The wire that feeds into this tape to wire connector accessory would then align with the polarity as marked.
